How is Operator different from an AI chat app?
A chat app can explain the steps. Operator carries them out inside After Effects. It sees your active composition and selected layers, makes changes in your timeline, and leaves you with real layers, keyframes and expressions you can keep editing.
Which AI accounts can I use?
You can connect a supported Claude or ChatGPT subscription, or use an Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini API key. There’s no separate tool to install, and you can switch connections in Settings. Your provider’s pricing and usage limits apply.
Will Operator work on my computer?
You can use Operator with After Effects 2022 (version 22.0) or later on Windows PCs (x64) and Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later).
Can I try Operator for free?
Yes. You can start a 7-day free trial with no Operator account or credit card required. Just connect your own AI account or API key and start using Operator.
Is Operator a subscription?
No. Operator is a one-time purchase. Your license never expires.
Will I receive updates?
Yes. Your purchase includes one year of updates. Every version released during that year is yours to keep forever. If you want another year of updates, you can pay a discounted upgrade fee whenever you’re ready.
What if Operator makes a mistake?
Ask Operator to make a correction, or adjust the result yourself in After Effects. Operator also saves checkpoints as it works. Click Revert on a saved checkpoint to return your project to how it was at that point.
Can I get a refund if Operator doesn’t work for me?
Yes. If Operator isn’t right for you, email support@boriklabs.com within 7 days of purchase for a full refund. No questions asked.
Can I safely connect my AI account to Operator?
Yes. You sign in directly with your provider through the official Claude Code or Codex sign-in flow. If you use an API key, it’s stored securely on your computer. BorikLabs does not receive your passwords or API keys.
What data does Operator share?
Operator doesn’t collect any of your project data. Your prompts, relevant project context, composition previews and attachments go directly to your chosen AI provider using your own account to carry out your requests. They don’t pass through our servers. Your provider’s data policies apply. Learn about your data and privacy.
