Trial, license and updates
Your Operator license and your AI account do different jobs. The license gives you access to Operator; your chosen AI provider supplies the models and sets its own usage limits.
Try Operator
Start a 7-day free trial from the welcome screen. No card is required for the Operator trial. You still need a supported AI connection, and its normal charges or usage limits apply.
Activate a purchase
Find your license key through your Polar purchase or the BorikLabs customer portal. Use the email address you purchased with to access your purchases.
In Operator, choose I have a license key on the welcome screen or in Settings → Account. Enter the key and choose Activate. Initial activation needs an internet connection.
If you already installed the trial, use that same installation. You do not need a different paid version of the app.
Keep your license key private. It is different from the API key used to connect an AI provider.
One person, 2 devices
Your license covers one person on up to 2 devices at a time, for personal or commercial work. Each person needs their own license.
Before moving to another computer, open Settings → Account → Deactivate on the old one. If you no longer have access to it, choose Manage devices to use the customer portal and free its slot.
Your license does not expire
A one-time purchase includes one year of updates. Versions released during that year are yours to keep permanently.
After that year, you can continue using your current eligible version indefinitely or purchase another year of updates. Renewal is optional.
Keeping a version permanently does not include AI-provider usage or guarantee compatibility with every future After Effects release, operating system or provider change.
Install an update
When an update is available, follow Operator's update link or visit the official download page. Close After Effects, install the new .zxp, and reopen the app. Normal updates preserve your settings and chats.
What happens without internet?
An already activated paid installation keeps its verified license during a temporary connection or licensing-service outage. Initial activation on a new device needs an online check. A confirmed deactivation or revoked license is different from an outage.
AI requests still need access to the selected provider. Keeping your license active offline does not make the AI models run locally.
Refunds
Email support@boriklabs.com from your purchase email within 7 days for a full refund. Refunded licenses are deactivated. AI-provider charges are separate and cannot be refunded by BorikLabs.
